Dr Marcus Chia holds a Bachelor of Medicine (Honours), a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS, Orthopaedics) and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA).

He completed advanced fellowship training under Dr Laurent Lafosse at the Alps Surgery Institute in Annecy, France — the surgeon who pioneered the arthroscopic Latarjet procedure — and further subspecialty training in the UK. He has presented at national and international conferences and published research in peer-reviewed journals.

This depth of training means patients access internationally benchmarked surgical techniques for conditions including rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, frozen shoulder, shoulder arthritis, and the full spectrum of elbow disorders.

Dr Chia treats the full range of shoulder conditions, including:
